This DofE Bronze Skills course is for beginner participants who have access to some outside space like a balcony, patio or small garden. The course teaches you sowing and planting of fruit, flowers and vegetables, as well as garden maintenance, harvesting and storing your produce. The course is based on organic principles, helping you to create an environmentally friendly plot for plants and garden wildlife to flourish.

Once the Bronze Award has been completed and participants are keen to gain more in depth gardening knowledge for their DofE Silver Skills, this course is your next step. Participants can continue to grow from balconies and  patios. Those with access to a larger space will benefit from gardening in full soil. This course will also continue to educate and create an environmentally friendly plot for plants and garden wildlife to live in harmony.

This course is for participants who have completed the Silver Award and are aiming to gain more in depth gardening knowledge and higher skilled gardening techniques for their DofE Gold Skills. Participants can continue to grow from balconies, patios and small gardens but the focus is on growing in full soil and how to extend the grow season, in particular. We will continue to create an environmentally friendly plot for plants and wildlife to equally flourish.
